Résumé

This article is the starting point of a profound study on Onomastics in Zarma, as well as Anthroponomy which is dealt with here and Toponymy reserved for future studies.It concerns essentially the classification of the authentic name in this language insisting
at the same time on its linguistic analysis. It describes the way; names, surnames, nicknames etc.. are given (These concepts are deliberately grouped under the appellation of Name because each of these elements could find itself in the position of anthronyme) within a community which has been influenced a lot and is going through changes, at its own pace of course, by integrating new values and giving up "concepts and conceptions" which are falling into desuetude.
