Résumé

Among the kasena ethnic group in south-eastern part of Burkina Faso, matrimonial ties concede to woman the key role in social organization through various transactions. Indeed, the Kasena woman is entitled to specific domains of freedom (Libersky, 1991; Cassiman, 2000) particularly at home and over the market place where her authority is
fully recognized, contrary to the widely shared perception in Africa that woman is constantly exploited by man in society.
In such a relationship, woman establishes the mains link between the market place and the home life. She maintains the social money and to buy in return consumption goods. Based on data collected in the Nahouri province of Burkina Faso, this article is trying to
grasp the cultural and economic dimension of this back and forth between the two domains.
