Résumé

The major problem of North-Cameroonian regions is doubtlessly the appearance of a structurally dependent economy due primarily to insufficient agricultural production
faced with urban growth. The difficulties caused by demographic growth have led to a modification of the demand for food which in turn brings about qualitative or
quantitative deficiency in agricultural production despite the fact that production has increased since the 70s. The article analyse this structural dependence by the regular
threat of the food weapon and show that the problem can be explained by the fact that this part of the country faces difficulties in the utilisation of water resources and in
profoundly non-egalitarian land structures
