Abstract

This study aimed to assess the sociodemographic and socioeconomic characteristics of households associated with food insecurity in the Kayes region in February 2018. The method used is a secondary analysis of Kayes data from the National Food and Nutrition Security Survey through a multinomial logistic regression. The results reveal that 33,8% of households had a poor food consumption score. The food consumption score was statistically associated with sex, age, marital status of head of household, residence status and wealth quintile, household size. The food consumption score, a method of knowing the quality of the diet, was associated with all the socio- demographic characteristics of the household.
