Tuberculous anterior uveitis in a child at the Reference Health Center of Commune V of Bamako District

Abstract
Introduction: The ocular sphere is a rare localization of tuberculosis. We report a case of this ocular location infection in a Malian girl. Describe the ocular lesions during a tuberculous infection. Observation: This is a descriptive clinical case study concerning a 13 year old girl is received in consultation in our department for redness and lowering of acuity in the right eye gradually evolving since a few months. Despite the many consultations and treatments received, the symptoms persisted and worsened insidiously. In his antecedents, we did not find any notion of ocular trauma, or of tuberculous contortion. Ophthalmological examination reveals anterior uveitis granulomatosis with significant decrease in visual acuity. The examination of the sputum is negative; on the other hand, the tuberculin IDR is phlyctenular with an induration diameter> 35mm. The anti-tuberculosis treatment according to the protocol of the National Tuberculosis Program allowed a rapid clinical and functional improvement, then the healing of the patient. Conclusion: Diagnosis of ocular tuberculosis is difficult in developing countries. It requires the provision of new diagnostic tools and a multidisciplinary collaboration.
