Abstract

Objective: The objective of our study was to assess health workers on their knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward SARS-Cov-2 disease.

Method: We had conducted a cross-sectional descriptive survey during one week using a questionnaire. The generated database was then analyzed on Epi_info version 3.54.

Results: A total of 167 health workers were questioned, 60% were female. The average age was 32.58±12 years and the under 30 years old were the most represented. One hundred and sixty-two respondents (97%) had heard of Covid-19, and knew about the vaccines. Only 70 (42%) participants had been vaccinated and 47 (28%) intended to be vaccinated. The main reasons for refusal were lack of reliable information (8%), fear of side effects (36%) and lack of confidence (31%). More than half were in favor of imposing a vaccination card at the workplace and one third were in favor of free vaccination.

Conclusion: This survey revealed low adherence of health workers to vaccination against Covid-19. Training and sensitization sessions will be necessary to reinforce knowledge and correct attitudes in order to increase the rate of adherence to vaccination.
