Abstract
.Objective: to determine the profile of antimicrobial resistance of Mycoplasma hominis (M. hominis) and Ureaplasma urealyticum (U. urealyticum) detected in women with a request for mycoplasma screening who came at the National Institute for Public Health (INSP) at Bamako. Results: we enrolled 115 women in this study and infection due to mycoplasma were found in 63.5% of them. It is appears that 53 % have infections caused by U. urealyticum, 6.1% by M. hominis and 4.3 % of co-infections involving both germs (U. urealyticum and M. hominis). Mycoplamas was more observed in the age group between 16 and 35 years, this age group representing 79% of our study population marked by the disturbance of the vaginal flora. The macroscopic examination of samples showed that the whitish mucus aspect was the most observed with 75.7% of cases. Antimicrobial susceptibility was determined using the Mycoplasma IST2 Kit (bioMerieux, Marcy l’Etoile, France). It varied between 87 and 92 % for fluoroquinolones, 23 and 57% for macrolides and tetracycline.
