Abstract

Tubulointerstitial nephritis (TIN) is a group of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases that involves the interstitium and tubules, it leads to renal failure and has multiple causes drug-induced, idiopathic, genetic, immune-mediated, infectious (viral, bacterial, parasitic, or fungal). We are here describing a case of fungal etiology, while the frequency of interstitial nephritis of 4.23% has been found in hospitalizations in nephrology department in Mali, without any data available on the role of candida in the occurrence of the TNI. This is a 66-year-old patient, with a poorly followed high blood pressure who presented a urinary tract infection with isolation of candida spp. The diagnosis of candida TNI associated with acute renal failure was retained after advice from nephrologists. Treatment with fluconazole and rehydration resulted in the sterilization of urine and the normalization of the biological parameters
