COVID-19: Pulmonary embolism after Covishield vaccination at Mali Hospital August 2021.

Abstract
Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing cause of the current global health crisis. At present, there are very few reports of vaccine-induced pulmonary embolism against COVID 19. We report a case of massive proximal acute pulmonary embolism after vaccination
Observation: A 61-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with a 3-day history of chest pain, dyspnea, 5 days after receiving her first dose of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine Covishield. She was diagnosed with venous thrombosis of the lower limbs and pulmonary embolism on April 13, 2021. She was hospitalized for 14 days and followed on an outpatient basis with an oral anticoagulant. An unlikely link to the vaccine product was the WHO causality score. This was argued the patient's risk factors (hepatitis B, obesity, diabetes and hypertension).
Conclusion This case report was evaluated by the pharmacovigilance technical committee and concluded an unlikely link between the Covishield vaccine and the post-vaccination event.
