Abstract

Introduction: Peripheral and symmetrical gangrene is a rare clinical entity. Malaria, a cause of GPS, has been exceptionally reported in our regions. Observation: The patient was 25 years old and presented with necrosis of the fingers and toes in an infectious context. The thick blood sample was positive for Plasmodium Falciparum. The diagnosis of peripheral gangrene of the extremities complicating Plasmodium falciparum malaria was retained. An antimalarial treatment based on intravenous Artesunate and an amputation of the fingers and toes resulted in a favourable evolution.
Conclusion: The importance of the global malaria endemic requires knowledge of this dreaded complication
