Abstract

The mandibular localization of tuberculosis is rare and represents less than 2 per cent of skeletal locations. We are reporting an observation of mandibular tuberculosis in a young Malian girl. It is a patient aged 24 years, non-immunocompromized by HIV and without any particular pathological history, who has presented a swelling bilateral mandibular, gradually increasing in volume since three months without alteration of her general condition. The clinical examination has found a painful swelling with multiple fistula conditions, of laterocervical satellites adenopathy and a thickening inflammatory condition of the mucosa gum covering the alveolar edge of the lower teeth. The intradermal reaction to tuberculin was positive to 23 mm. The scanner has highlighted an osteolytic process angle and the rising branch of the left hemimandibule. Fine needle aspiration associated with the Anatomic pathology show caseo follicular lesion. The patient has benefited from a tuberculosis multidrug therapy for six months, at the end of which we have proceeded to the ablation of the receiver appeared at the level of the symphysis. The long-term evolution has been favorable.
