Abstract

Introduction: In Mali, National program to fight against tuberculosis (PNLT) report in 2015 reveal that 541/4035 (13%) of TB cases are infected by HIV. The aim of this work was to describe

biological monitoring of patients infected by tuberculosis and HIV during crisis period, and to assess joint activities of Tuberculosis and HIV as recommended in Mali.

Method: We realized a retro-prospective study to assess the level of achievement of joint TB/HIV activities recommended in Mali. The retrospective phase was targeted January 2012 to June 2013 and the prospective phase was conduct from January to March 2015 at Bamako.

Results: The retrospective study show that tuberculosis occurred in 124 (2.95%) cases among 4026 HIV positives patients screened from January 2012 to Jun 2013.

The biological monitoring was more realized in tuberculosis care than HIV care for patients co-infected with a very low rate of viral load achievement.

The level of achievement is low for most joint activities regarding HIV and Tuberculosis. In practice, only 2/10 interviewed agent provide care of the two pathologies based on the recommendations of corresponding focal point according to the protocols in force.

Conclusion: The collaborative mechanisms for TB / HIV integrated services need to be strengthened for best implementation of the TB/HIV joint activities strategic framework as recommended in Mali
